Cat Consultations |

|
Consultations are conducted on a one-to-one basis which enables dedicated attention to your specific needs. The average length of a consultation is two hours. Consultations can cover anything including:
What will happen during a consultation?
Veterinary Referrals: before we see you you will need to be referred by your vet. We will provide you with the necessary form and all you have to do is get your vet to fill it in. This essential step is necessary to rule out any medical problems. Cats are very good at hiding the fact that they are unwell and very often pain or illness is at the bottom of a behavioural problem. Observation of current behaviour: The consultation will take place at your home, where your cat is in his normal surroundings and therefore more likely to be himself. We ask that as many members of the family as possible are present. History taking: this is essential in order to make an accurate diagnosis of why your cat is behaving in the way he is. We need to discover when and why your cat started to behave in the way he does and what motivates him to continue to behave in this way. Behaviour Modification (treatment) Programme: once your cat's history and current behaviour have been discussed, we will work together to develop a treatment programme. You will be shown how to implement this treatment programme during the consultation. Report: after the visit you will be provided with a comprehensive report which explains your cat's behaviour problems and details how you are going to implement the treatment programme devised during the consultation. A copy of the report will also be sent to your referring vet. Helpdesk: twelve months free email or telephone support is available to assist and support you as you put your cat's treatment programme into place. Further rehabilitation training: if you require extra help in implementing your cat's treatment programme this can be arranged. How much will it cost? Consultations are available within a twenty mile radius of our office in Theale. A two hour session with Rebecca Cox costs £110 and this includes travel expenses, your written report, twelve months email/telephone support and liaison with your vet. If you live further than twenty miles from Theale please contact us. |
